If you are an individual who would enjoy taking hardline CPG's (toys) from sourcing to market, travelling to and working with overseas factories to ensure timely product manufacturing, and ensuring products developed are attractive and meet the needs of customers , then we’re interested in hearing from you!
SUMMARY: Develops, implements and maintains the company’s product line. Works cross-functionally and collaboratively with members of the marketing, sales, sales support, sourcing and operations to ensure continuity in product offering and product to market execution to attain company goals. Adhere to and promote company values by performing duties in a manner that is consistent with being a process team leader and supports the continued growth of the company. Manages product development process from ideation to market under general supervision with ability to exercise professional and experienced discretion.
Source and develop new products in a timely process from ideation to product launch within trends. Align product development responsibilities with changing consumer needs.
Directs and performs comprehensive product: development, changes, promotions (e.g. product specifications, packaging, imagery, positioning, margins and pricing)
Cross functional coordination with marketing direction
- products in time for presenting to the product selection committee
- products to sales for sales presentations and
- advisement on collateral (catalogs, supplemental, and sell sheet copy, intended for the point of purchase merchandisers).
Manages & communicate sales information and product changes.
Represents product in group meetings and before product selection team
Analyze Competition by customer channel, improves margin, market position, and quality
Develop and maintain product database
Establish and maintain vendor relationships and accountability
Use in depth knowledge of toy products in competitive & emerging categories.
Maintain a competitive understanding of market trends.
Other duties as necessary.
IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS:
- 3-5 years of experience in product development, preferably in a wholesale or retail toy company.
- Related Bachelors degree
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs
- Strong analytical, communication and presentation skills required.
- Attention to detail and appreciation of deadlines is essential
