We are currently recruiting for a QUALITY MANAGER, to join our team in Mooresville, NC.
This position reports to the Senior Quality Manager.
To ensure the implementation, validation and maintenance of the AS 9100, ISO 9001 Quality Systems and FAA Repair Station regulations
To ensure all regulatory, Industry and CPI, INC. requirements are met along with all internal policies procedures and processes.
Ensure QA manuals for policies, procedures and work instructions are implemented and maintained
Ensure department goals and objectives are implemented, maintained and reported on monthly
Ensure ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality System audits are documented and completed annually
Ensure the vendor audit program (as required) is in place with supporting documentation, recommendations and approvals
Ensure a timely and documented customer return process, while ensuring all FELLFAB® costs have been identified and recorded
Identify the cost of quality and report findings at the quarterly quality review
Ensure the implementation of continuous improvement programs based on statistical data, needs & audits
Verify, validate and document certification and inspection of incoming material and maintain documented records
Ensure First Article Inspection (FAI) and First off inspections are identified, completed and recorded.
Verify / inspect first articles (along with Sales, Eng., and Production) before shipping to ensure FELLFAB®, customer and regulatory requirements are met
Ensure all regulatory, customer and FELLFAB requirements are defined and documented (with objective evidence)
Manage the annual Quality System Audit with the third party registrar
Ensure inspection tools are available and maintained to meet the quality requirements
Monitor and direct inspection teams to, process, final, and inspection requirements as identified
Identify quality plan requirements to customer, FAA and/or other regulatory requirements, including LOM's
Provide the necessary certifications for goods and services to customers, suppliers and Authorities
Maintain FAA manuals and ensure documentation is available upon request
Participate in contract review meetings and identify issues
Ensure rejected material is identified, documented and controlled during the process and assist in the final disposition
Ensure NCR's, CAR's and SCAR procedures are implemented, monitored and followed
Have data collection analyzed and implement corrective actions where required
Maintain staffing requirements and ensure training and work instructions are provided
Complete staff performance reviews along with performance improvement plans as required
Identify department needs and operate to an approved budget
Communicate QA, legal and general matters to the Senior Quality Manager
Maintain a safe working environment to legislative standards
Provide QA support for the sales team as it relates to customer concerns, complaints or returns
Provide first article review and response to open items
Provide all necessary certifications and documentation requirements to customers, suppliers and regulatory authorities
Maintain internal quality specifications and documents as required by FELLFAB®, customers or regulatory authorities
Participate in Customer, Supplier and FAA audits as needed
Submit yearly department budgets for review and approval
Lead quality meetings (RA, MRB, NCR, CAR)
Have quarterly quality reviews with the management team
Ensure timely monthly reports are submitted identifying department status
Identify department future opportunities and developments during department planning meeting
Ensure product and material tested are conducted within the customer or regulatory standards
Ensure test reports are completed and issued as per the requirement
Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and maintained to ensure regulatory compliance
Educational, Work History and Skill Requirements:
Post-secondary education and/or College Diploma in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Inspection or other business related field
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Experience/Abilities Required:
Minimum of 5 years of quality management experience within a manufacturing environment
Ability to maintain and manage ISO 9001 and AS9100 certifications
Ability to read and interpret drawings
Ability to communicate with employees at all levels within the organization
Previous experience with test data and certification procedures
Exceptional organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and documentation
Ability to multi task and work on various projects at any given time with competing

CPI offers upholstery dress cover sewing for both fabric and leather, fireblock covers for our cushions, cabin divider curtains, and carpet binding. We work closely with the seat OEM and/or airline customer to insure their signature designs and specifications are developed into the upholstery product.
We are continuously working to improve our production processes and output with zero defects using “lean manufacturing” concepts that identify and eliminate waste, reducing our overall cost for the customer.
