The Human Resources Generalist will serve as HR partner to leaders, in partnership with the HR leader, supporting the Brown-Forman Cooperage, Jackson and Spencer Mill Operations with approximately 300 union employees as well as non-union employees. This role is responsible for day to day HR management processes, employee relations, Employee Leave administration, HR Systems administration and various other activities to build management strength and leadership capability. Promotes a shared understanding of organization values, operating principles, and cultural change imperatives and works to align HR policies and processes to support the achievement of business goals.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
HR POLICY: Ensures uniform and equitable application of organizational policies and procedures including investigation and resolution of employee issues, if applicable.
LEAVE MANAGEMENT: Partner with third party administrators to administer appropriate and timely support to employees.
HUMAN RESOURCE INFORMATION SYTSEM ADMINISTRATION: Ensure integrity of HR data and documentation.
TALENT ACQUISITION: Actively participate in the selection process for all job openings including on-boarding of new hourly employees. Organizes and participates in interviews, recruiting and debrief discussions as well as manage all pre-employment related screening and testing processes.
EMPLOYEE RELATIONS: Provide Labor Relations support for the leadership staff. Schedule and participate in communication meetings. Participate in discussions of any outstanding issues, unconfirmed information, and employee concerns or needs. Assist in development of action plans to resolve issues. Partners with the HR Manager to conduct employee investigations and retains all documentation associated. Manage the bid process for all open union positions as well as maintain all employee qualifications. Partner with Plant Administrator & HR Manager to manage attendance policy, tracking, and disciplinary process.
COACH & FACILITATE: Provide support on day to day HR management processes, facilitating the execution of people and business strategies through people and organizational development. Ability to develop creative solutions based on evaluation of needs and clear deliverables and timelines. Partner with leaders and employees to support people development strategies/plans, coach employees, training, etc.

HR PROJECTS: Leads and manages HR projects as assigned.

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related field.
Minimum 3-5 years’ experience serving in an HR generalist role
Experience with HR Information Systems
Proficient in Google Suite, Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Excel
Travel as needed to support operation but not to exceed 25%
PHR, SPHR or other related HR credentials
Union and Non-Union experience
HR experience in a manufacturing environment
