Using ITW 80/20 business philosophies and tool box methodologies, the focus of this position is to develop safe and capable processes that ensure product quality, equipment effectiveness, and efficient labor utilization through the correct combination of technology, equipment, tooling, training, and communication.
Reports to Business Unit Manager. The incumbent will be responsible for the manufacturing processes of gas fired and electric commercial cooking appliances.
This position is considered a developmental opportunity for advancement to business unit leadership opportunities.
Education Bachelor Degree
Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Industrial Technology
Experience 5-7 years in a manufacturing or operations environment
Skills / Ability
•Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
•Proficient using MS Office Suite
•Proficient at reading and interpreting engineering documentation (i.e. drawings)
•Ability to multitask in a fast paced, cross-functional environment
•Previous supervisory experience.
•Experience with using an ERP manufacturing system and database
•Understanding the use of lean manufacturing analysis techniques and implementation of their tools
Minimum Qualifications (20% business related)
•Knowledge and experience in the application of manual mig and tig welding processes on SST materials
•Understanding and implementation of electro-mechanical final assembly processes
Preferred Qualifications (20% business related)
•Has demonstrated ability to work in a manufacturing environment with metal fabrication
•Working knowledge/experience with robotic weld processes
•Proficient use of cadam application(s). (i.e. Solid Works, Pro E., AutoCad)
•Understanding of gas fired and/or electrical cooking appliance construction
SCOPE , FUNCTION & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities (80% Core Essential Functions)
•Work with Design department to timely and effectively introduce new products or product enhancements or changes.
This will include:
Scheduling production of pilot unit(s) as required.
Process Design PCN’s via Bill-of-Material (BOM) and method maintenance for assigned products within ERP database.
Develop appropriate labor work instructions as required using best practices.
Develop and maintain standard product costs for assigned products.
Identify and implement product standard cost reductions.
•Investigate and implement advanced manufacturing methods and technologies:
Make recommendations on new equipment.
Prepare Appropriation Request documentation to financially support recommendation.
Manage the timely and effective implementation of projects.
Submit annual Capital Planning Budgets.
Lead assigned hourly team in development and implementation of continuous improvement and world class lean manufacturing practices to improve:
Work simplification, labor efficiency, and product throughput improvements.
Visual materials replenishment triggers.
Maximize assigned productive inventory utilization (MOH) goals using KanBan and/or Market Rate of Demand (MRD) methodologies.
Responsibilities (20% Business-Specific Functions)
•Assist business unit management in preparation of annual Operating Plan.
•Procure needed production perishable supplies and small tools.
•Prepare manufacturing analysis and reports as necessary.
•Prepare manufacturing workplace layout digital documentation as necessary.
•Provide occasional backup to other personnel in business unit as assigned.

•Office or Lab work area
•Manufacturing Shop Floor or Warehouse exposure.
•Some travel as necessary to production facility.
•Week/Weekend overtime as necessary.

Our Production facility is located in Louisville KY , and our Engineering team works out of Troy Ohio. We are part of the Food Service Division that reports to our parent Corporation Illinois Tool Works
