The department of University Communications is charged with telling the University of Oregon’s (UO) stories to a broad range of audiences and positioning the university to succeed and thrive. The department utilizes and manages a comprehensive suite of communications tools, including public relations, branding, advertising, licensing, digital media, and more for the benefit of the university.
The Internal Communications Specialist (Specialist) is responsible for providing communications support to the Office of the Provost (OtP), certain units reporting within the provost’s office, and the Internal and Executive Communications (IEC) unit.
The Specialist is supervised by the Director of Communications for the Office of Provost (Director) and works closely with communicators within IEC to help develop and execute communications strategies and tactics to support the provost and president’s priorities and initiatives, and to position the university to succeed and thrive.
This position provides communications support, coordination, and project management for OtP, IEC and related units, including writing print and digital content, web content management, e-communications, oversights of design and photography projects, and communications assessments. It regularly requires independent judgment, confidentiality, and a knowledge of the University of Oregon, its programs, personnel, and current issues.
Salary is commensurate with experience and will range from $47,000 – $54,000.
